Ken Wheat was born in Coventry, England in 1942 and was educated at local schools before leaving for university. He was awarded an honours degree in Economics at Durham University in 1964. He went into management in the automotive components industry in Birmingham and retired in 1997. He began genealogical research soon after, focussing firstly on his own family and then on the wider Wheat family in England.

This book is the result of fifteen years of painstaking work.
